Queen Ramotsehoa

Queen Ramotsehoa, ACCAt the beginning of 1998, when I penned the first version of my company profile, these are the words that I identified as driving my passion to excite people to want to live: "in every human being there is dormant success waiting for trust, respect and integrity to be realized". My motto was also so clear, "permanent change for improved results!"

Looking back 10 years later, I just stand in awe of how the meaning and manifestation of these words have evolved! What has happened is better 'languaging' of what I want to achieve with my life, and the clear impact that I live to make every day of my life.

I started my business without any computer skills, where I would write a letter out, fax it to my sister Rebone for her to type and fax back, until she refused doing that anymore, and opted to tutor me on the phone until I got to where I am now, where I develop full training manuals.

I started my business with no business training, and invested in lots of resources and time, buying business books like strategic planning, performance management and leadership, and read them like novels to align my passion to the boardroom language and thinking. Today, I coach leaders!!

I made all expensive mistakes, and what worthwhile school fees, because not even a good MBA could have taught me business the way those expensive mistakes, and those powerful highlights did.

I regard myself as an agent of change, and pride myself in breaking all barriers that were built by stereotypes about what African women can and cannot do!!

I love how my career has evolved, and how it has impacted on my life and the lives of my loved ones, and I can only thank God for this amazing Blessing, where I wake up every morning, and know that if I had a choice, I would still choose to do what I do, and that I would not ask for a different path to create my today!!

Where I was:

Motivational Speaker and Training Consultant
I started my training business in 1997 with no clue and knowledge of the business world. The only thing I had was my clarity of making a difference in people's lives, in a way that would make them self-reliant, self-sustaining and personal dignity. My belief then, which has transcended my career, is that "in every human being there is dormant success waiting for trust, respect and integrity to be realized".

My training focused on gaps that I recognized, which in my mind would equip South Africa to transform, and realize all the beautiful opportunities made possible by our legislation like the Equity Act and the Skills Development Act. My focus therefore was in Strategic Planning, Performance Management, Project Management, Customer Service and Life Skills.

A lot of my life, energy, effort and focus has gone to training and consulting in these areas, but with that, came despair at not being able to ensure "permanent change for improved results" which has been my company motto since day one.

"What I didn't like" / "What didn't work for me" about that profession:

My biggest concern, which still remains a concern, is the lack of impact that training has in companies, and in people's lives. People go for 5 days training, and come back to their desks and lives and nothing, absolutely nothing has changed!! So much time, money, effort and opportunity later…

Where I am today:

Own business:
Own business with my coaching business gradually growing. My target is that by the end of 2008 my company business ration is 60/40 for coaching.
